About Mockingbird Mojo
Hi! I'm Ella.
I've been teaching early childhood music and movement classes at the same school for more than 20 years, working every day with children ages one to six. (Before that, I was a classroom teacher for more than 10 years with children aged two to six.)
I was a founding member of two improv comedy troupes and performed for more than 30 years. I’ve also taught improv to children and adults. I have been incorporating mindfulness into my music classes (and my own life) for eight years.
Working in the early childhood field for so long, I have learned what kids like. Honestly, what they like is the same thing that I like—having fun. One of my main teaching goals is to infuse my lessons not only with learning opportunities, but with curiosity—and yes, fun.
Like a mockingbird, I love to absorb what's around me--songs, images, movement activities, theater games--and add my own spin on them before sending them back into the world.
I want to share with you what I've learned and created over 30-plus years so you can find your own creative voice and share it with the children in your life.
